Some views:-
Perez is actually a good player, he's just not a great player or one that was ever really going to be a top striker for us.
I bet he does good at West Ham and good for him, us p*ssing around with his career for 2 years was not a true reflection of him as a player.

I think at a club like Newcastle or West Ham he could do some damage, his skills are certainly better than those clubs are worth.
Maybe he'll link up well with Wilshere, they both have decent football brains.

Ooo John Radford (as Brian Moore would say if he got anywhere within range of shooting distance) played a whole season for us and scored one goal that was fucking disallowed for offside!!
I remember it as though it was yesterday ⚒⚒

we have a long history of signing AFC players.
like the younger sibling getting the hand me downs..
different this time though.
Perez and Wilshire are both quality players with much to offer,,far from the knackers yard

I saw Radford score twice for whu, a friendly against billericay town, 1977. we won 2-1, we didn't win too many matches that year.

Radford played a total of 30 games for 0 goals.
Nil, none , zero
The only positive .... he played his last game at the end of Nov 1977 & on the 9th Dec we bought David CROSS

Radford is still Arsenal’s 4th leading scorer of all time with 149 goals.
Only T Henry, Ian Wright & Cliff Bastin ahead of him.

I can remember David Cross saying he regretted not joining West Ham earlier as he reckoned John Lyall improved him so much as a player.
A year earlier would have been good

I think Wenger may have gone a bit la la in his last few seasons previous achievements can't be disputed one iota but ffg hell mirrors what I saw back in day in the financial mkts too much power clouds decision making

Radford actually played OK for us... he just could never notch... remember him setting up Derek hales for a couple ... but infront of goal he made Dave Kelly look like Lineker in his pomp

John Radford actually played quite well for us. He was the big target man that we had been calling out for and we won 2-0 against Liverpool in 1976 on his debut, the first time that we had beaten them for some years.

Stewart Robson was one i thought was a great signing..but was always injured with us..we had Brady at that time as well.
and we were relegated..not got my nut around that..same for roeder yr

I thought Ian Wright was quite good on his debut......cant remember after that apart from he being injured...Hartson was a class signing, couldnt believe we let him go to Wimbledon

Mentioned before I thought when he arrived he was basically competing with Alexis Sanchez for a place.
And Sanchez seemed a player who wanted to play as much as possible
Useful to have an alternative off the bench especially in the back end of last season it was Hugill.
